Introducing Mrs Cedars...
by cedars ini just thought you should know that mrs cedars has finally taken the plunge and joined the forum.
she was able to log on for the first time yesterday.. though we both "awakened" at different stages, mrs cedars was very supportive and non-judgmental when i first began exploring my beliefs from a critical standpoint.
she is currently in the process of reading crisis of conscience and aquainting herself with some of the facts of witness history that were hitherto unknown.

William Osbeck-The CO that helped me get out of the borg.
by Sadie5 inafter reading cruzenheart's post on the letter about her father, and the treatment he received from the co, william osbeck, and the elders of his congregation, it brought back my own memories of this particular co and his treatment of people.
it was 1995 and one of the hardest years of my life.
in february of that year, i learned i was pregnant with our fifth child.

I'm not sure where he came from but he was a teacher and he was our co in texas and I think he was headed for florida. I could descibe him as a lean and pale man.

i remember Osbeck this is the first time someone has mentioned by name a co that I actually knew. He was a mixed bag for sure sometimes he was a nice guy but I could see he was just going through the motions of being a co and wasn't by nature a sensitive guy. I know another person who was having a hard time and he went over with an elder and caused outrage. My experience with the whole lot of them was negative and mostly i just stayed out of their way and basically ignored their visits. I hated the way some witnesses would just fawn over them it was sickening.

How do you deal with your "down" time?
by compound complex inby that, i don't mean so much what you do in your leisure time but how you manage the freedom to choose what you will or will not do.
off the wt treadmill, i no longer feel guilty about what is now my neglect of theocratic activity; however, after a nonstop week such as i have just lived through (barely), i am doing nothing, going nowhere, and accepting no new obligations (for the moment).
i can stare at the sky, enjoy the beautiful day and not worry that demons are rushing to fill the void in my empty skull.. you?.

I love the mental freedom. The pursuit of whatever interests me with no gullt I have removed the concept of wasting time from my life nothing i do is in that catagory. Thanks to the wtbs I have become a better thinker because they made me realize something I'd been doing all my life that I just didn't see. You make a mistake that big and you get the point. I understand why people grasp at anything to explain life but i know now that it's okay to not have an answer at least its better than a fantasy or a lie.
I've been getting interested in eft tapping lately we will be attending an all day seminar on it in august. I've been trying it and am actually feeling improvement we'll see how it goes. The edgar Cayce ctr here constantly has unusual speakers if it's weird they have it and it's fun and interesting. We listened to a man named Dean Radin and his research we went to hear Joe Mcmoneagle on remote viewing.
We also have many weekend lunches by the water several weeks ago we chartered a boat ride from Captain Alan on the york river we didn't want to fish just tour around he showed us the people working to save the bay oysters and it was great fun.
The organization always tried to make you feel guilty if you were enjoying something that wasn't "theocratic". Towards the end of our foray into Jw land we were getting sarcastic if someone told us they went to the movies or whatever we would laugh and say "i think I was praying and reading the watchtower while you were doing that worldly thing" alot of times they would laugh back because deep inside they know.

Things that were supposedly demonized
by freshstart ini was just thinking about all the fear i had when i was a kid that i would be attacked by demons if i wasn't careful.
i mean i lived in absolute terror over it, so i'm going to reminisce about the things i was told were demonized and you can add to the list if you'd like:.
lucky charms cerealcount dracula cerealitems bought at garage sales where there was a cross or anything religious present"hotel california" by the eagles (now one of my favorite songs)wwjd braceletsscooby dooi remember being so scared of every little noise that whenever i would turn off my light to go to bed, i would say "jehovah, jehovah!
